Converting to EV is very good for the country because it saves the Philippines government of paying in USDollars. The good thing is the government is working on a 50% RE dependence. Nuclear should is something is something we must adopt but at the moment its all talk and internal manuevering by the Aboitiz group. SOKOR has already a proposal to restart the BNP anytime but SOB biases are derailing it.
Zeekr is one of the better Chinese car in the market and i would agree that is a good premium EV. What i dont understand is that these local distributors price these EV 100% to 150% above the retail price you buy from China. And we must note that these EV cars have a ZERO excise tax. And please spare me the lesson of local overhead. Import shipping cost is only around US$4000 at the most and most of these distributors apply with the BOI and apply the CREATE law. These local distributors are making a big money selling these cars in the Philippines. Hopefully someone looks into these. If these are assembled here, then the more i will appreciate these vehicles.
